Church of St. Peter, Hamburg

This is an antique woodcut engraved view of the Church of St. Peter in the center of Hamburg, Germany, published in Gleason's Pictorial in 1854. The engraving is in very good condition and shows the then new church and a large open square with people milling about. The engraving measures approx. 9.25 by 6.75 inches and is accompanied by a a short article describing the church and the city. The building may not have survived the destruction of the second world war. The paper is age toned. There is text on the reverse side. This is not a modern reproduction or a reprint. It is a woodcut engraving, over 146 years old, and guaranteed to be as described.
