The Danaid

This is a vintage engraved view titled "The Danaid." published in the 1854 London Art Journal. It is in very good condition and was engraved from an original neoclassical statue by W Roffe. A related article describing the print and the career of the artist included.

There is a wide white margin an all four sides. The lower  photo more accurately shows the color and texture of this print. The print has been cleaned using proper conservation techniques and is free of age toning and foxing spots. There is a small blemish in the paper to the left of the figure. Dimensions of the figure are approx. 3.50 by 9 inches, and the overall size is approx. 9 by 12.50 inches. It is printed on heavy stock paper. Blank on the reverse side.This is not a modern reproduction or reprint. It is over 149 years old and guaranteed to be as described.
