SOLD "The Golden Age." Published in an English art journal in 1848. The print is in excellent condition and shows two lovely children playing. This was engraved by James Hunter from an original work by Edward Magnus. The print is accompanied by an original period description of the work and the career of the artist. The engraving measures approx.6.50 inches round, and the overall size is approx. 9 by 11.25 inches. There is a generous margin area around the engraving. There is a 1/4" tear on the right center margin which would not show under a matting. This is not a reproduction. This is a 156 year old steel engraving and guaranteed to be as described.
