This is an engraved view of the U.S. Constitution in a naval battle in the War of 1812. It is in very good condition and shows a view of the dismasted British ship Gurriere adrift and helpless after the battle. This view was published in 1834. This is not a modern
reproduction or reprint. It is a 169 year-old engraving and guaranteed to be as described.

"Old Ironsides" had won her nickname during the War of 1812, when, in a victorious battle against the British H.M.S. Guerriere, the English cannonballs bounced harmlessly off the American ship's oak hull.
